Not all recipes that are passed down from one generation to the next taste good.


In the 1880s, if you were lucky to live in Milltown, you would have access to a doctor, like Anna Ollison.


Many did not. The women often took on the responsibility of “doctoring” their families, like Great-Grandma Vincencia Mattas.

 

Pinworms are nasty little things that infect your intestines making you very uncomfortable. This is her recipe for getting rid of them.


Like many cures in the Czechoslovakian tradition, this one contains garlic.
